A River Runs Through It
This four-week series is based on the film A River Runs Through It. As you move through the series, you will help students reframe their views of prayer, seek to understand God.s will for their lives, avoid addictive behaviors, and learn to grasp the concept of complete love.
Lesson 1: The Art of Prayer Lay in Thrift--This lesson emphasizes how often we use prayer to try to manipulate God to get what we want, and to reframe our view of prayer. (Matthew 6:5-8)
Lesson 2: Thousand-Year Oats--The objective of this lesson is to help students consider where our stubbornness keeps us from following God.s plan for us, and decide where we will let go of our self-determined wants and needs in order to experience God.s best in our lives. (Galatians 2:20)
Lesson 3: I.ll Be Fine--This lesson teaches students to take the first steps away from addictive behavior and toward freedom in Christ. (Matthew 6:24)
Lesson 4: Complete Love-- The goal of this lesson is to describe what love means to us, discuss how easy or hard it is to give and receive love, and realize its impact on us and those around us. (1 Corinthians 13:4.8, 13)
