This Bible study, along with part 2, focuses on the letter of Hebrews--written for Jewish believers who were torn between their new faith and their old religious ways. The writer of Hebrews addresses the temptation to slip back into familiar routines and rituals, settling for second best, and skillfully makes a case that points to Jesus as the true Christ and proves that the new covenant Christ established far outweighs the old faith and rituals. Split into 2 parts, Hebrews challenges readers to embrace faith in Christ--a compassionate high priest--and to understand the importance of faith as a connector between this world and the next.
