Product Summary

This four-week Bible study is based on the movie Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring.

The Fellowship of the Ring, the first movie in the trilogy, is an epic tale of good versus evil. In this movie, we meet Frodo Baggins, a hobbit-a creature that is small in stature but big in heart. Before Frodo s uncle, Bilbo, suddenly leaves their home in the Shire, he entrusts Frodo with a powerful ring. When Gandalf, a wise wizard, reveals to Frodo that the ring has great power, Frodo and his friends decide to embark on an epic quest to destroy it in the far-off fires of Mount Doom.

Lesson 1: Letting God--To understand that when God asks His followers to give their lives to Him, He is not trying to rob them of life but give them life in abundance. (Matthew 13:44 45; Romans 7:14 25)

Lesson 2: The Pity of Bilbo--To understand that we should extend the mercy we so graciously received from Christ to everyone we meet, regardless of their situation. (Matthew 18:23 35)

Lesson 3: Concerning Hobbits--To understand that God s opinion of his children is not based on their outward appearances, but instead, the condition of their hearts. (1 Samuel 16:1 13)

Lesson 4: A Lifelong Journey--To remind students that a decision to follow Christ is the beginning point of a journey that will last them a lifetime. (Psalm 23; Hebrews 12:1 3)
