Developing Christian Values
This unit is designed to help students explore the Christian basis for deciding right and wrong. In these lessons, students will examine the processes for making ethical decisions and learn to form their own values
Lesson 1: What's Right, What's Wrong?--The Holy Spirit helps us apply Christ's command to love God and neighbor, which is the basis for decisions about right and wrong.(Mark 12:28-31; Romans 13:8-10; John 16:13; 1 John 2:24-27; Philippians 1:9-11)
Lesson 2: Forming Your Values--Forming Christian ethics requires God-given wisdom to carefully explore all sides of an issue. (Proverbs 9:10; 1 Kings 3:5, 9-10, 16-28)
Lesson 3: Take Your Stand--To effectively communicate our values in a world of diverse opinions, Christians need courage, confidence, courtesy, and respect. (Acts 15:1-4, 36-40; 17:16-34; 2 Timothy 2:23-25)
Lesson 4: Living With Your Values--Values take on full meaning only when we apply them to our daily lives. (Proverbs 21:3; James 1:22-25; 2:14-17; 1 Peter 3:13-16)
