This unit helps young adults think beyond the what of their beliefs as Christians to the more abstract why. It requires consideration of difficult questions about God, the Bible, the Incarnation, and grace. After these lessons, they should be able to explain without hesitation to Christians and non-Christians alike why they have chosen to believe what they believe.

Lesson 1: Why Should I Believe in God?--This lesson looks at the question of God's existence. It examines what Scripture says about God and what people have done throughout history to prove God's existence. Young adults will examine several possible responses to the question, Does God exist? (Gen 28; Ex 13:17-14:31; Ps 14:1; Is 52:13-53:12; 2 Ti 1:12)

Lesson 2: Why Should I Believe in the Bible?--Provides an opportunity for young adults to look at the Bible from several different perspectives, especially regarding views on its inspiration. It ultimately leads young adults to answer the question, Is the Bible truly the Word of God and does it deserve to be the authority for my faith and my life? (Jn 20:31; 2 Ti 3:15-16; 2 Pe 1:21)

Lesson 3: Why Should I Believe in the Incarnation?--This lesson explains what the word incarnation means to Christians and how the doctrine of the Incarnation lies at the foundation of the Christian faith. It will examine Scripture, the Chalcedonian creed and classical heresies regarding the person of Jesus to consider why they should believe that Jesus was fully divine and fully human. (Jn 1:1-18; Ph 2:6-11; Col 1:15-20; 1 Ti 3:16)

Lesson 4: Why Should I Believe in Grace?--This lesson examines grace--the activity of God in our lives, God's unmerited favor. It explains the different types of grace that Christians experience on their path toward entire sanctification and holiness. It leads young adults to see how God's grace makes a Christian life possible. (Rom 3:20, 23; 5:6-8; 8:31-32; Eph 2:8-9)
