Product Summary

This four-week series is based on the movie X-Men 2: United, which is a story of revenge and the struggle to survive. The main plot focuses on Mr. William Stryker's desire to get revenge on Professor Xavier for failing to cure his mutant son. In addition to the theme of revenge, an underlying theme is the X-men's struggle to survive in a world where they are scarcely accepted. As the X-men seek to live a peaceable existence, they must protect society from one of their own, the infamous Magneto.

Lesson 1: Compassionate Community--The goal of this lesson is to help students identify with the experience of being excluded and to challenge them to offer compassion and friendship to those who are mistreated by the world. (Luke 14:1-14)

Lesson 2: Living Faith--The goal of this lesson is to enable others to view faith not as an abstract belief in a transcendent God, but instead to view faith as an active trust in an immanent God who is present in their daily lives. (Psalm 77)

Lesson 3: Power Rules--The goal of this lesson is to enable students to recognize the type of power that seeks superiority and domination, and to invite them to embrace the power of the kingdom of God, which is characterized by justice and compassion. (Mark 9:33-37)

Lesson 4: Love's Choice--The goal of this lesson is to help students develop an understanding of love that is defined as an intentional choice to serve others in a way that contributes to the realization of the kingdom of God here on earth. (Luke 22:39-44)
